This is the astounding and impressive, Franklin Mint "Wicked Witch of the West" from the Wizard of Oz, Porcelain doll as portrayed by the incomparable Margaret Hamilton in the 1939 film. The doll is 22 tall and made of fine, bisque porcelain. Her features have been hand-painted to show her fiery eyes and haunting expression. She wears her long gown of black taffeta and vest which is tightly cinched at the waist along with her tiny purse. Tied to her neck is her sweeping cape, and on her head is her pointed, witches' hat.
In her hand she holds her famous broomstick which, in the end, could not save her. Her costume has been hand-sewn, and because everything is black, it's easy to miss the amazing workmanship and detail that has gone into this costume. We tried to take pictures that would show just how much effort went into it. The doll has been tightly sealed behind glass in a curio, and is in excellent condition with no dust, rips, tears or fading. She has never been removed from the curio or played with. She comes with her original box, hang tag and stand. Thanks for taking a look, and please take a peek at our other listings. We have more dolls, toys, books, figurines and collectibles.
