Antique 21 French Jumeau DEP doll, perfect head, original body

  

I've had this doll in my collection for a long time. I hate to part with her but it is time to downsize. She has a perfect socket head that's marked on the back: DEP, 10.

Her face is beautifully painted with set blue glass eyes, a shaded open mouth with four teeth and pierced ears. She wears replaced old brown glass earrings. She is on her original straight wrist body that's well strung and in great condition. I think the body was repainted long before I got this doll.

She wears beautiful clothing made from antique brocade and laces. The hat is trimmed with antique ribbon and an ostrich feather. I made this outfit for a different doll in the 1970's but it suited this doll better, I don't remember what the other doll ended up wearing. I know her head is stuffed with tissue paper so the eyes can't fall out. Her wig and pate are glued in place (I no longer do that) so you will have to trust me when I say the head is simply marked "DEP, 10". She's a big heavy doll, almost 4 lbs.
