21 Max Handwerck 283/285 German Bisque Head, Compo Body, Great Dress

  

Great Max Handwerck marked 283/285 and the number 2 and one quarter at the neck. The bisque is really lovely. She has gorgeous bright blue threaded stationary eyes. Nice brown multi stroke eyes.

Unfortunately has a hairline across the back of the head (see pics). The human hair wig has some age too it, it is very long and done up in loop braids, matches brows. The composition body is snugly strung, holds a pose and comes with nice stand. Some little girl years ago painted her fingernails red! I've never changed them, I feel they are part of her history.

There is a repair to the pinky finger and there is a neck repair on the compo body. Overall nice played with condition. Vintage pale mossy green full slip and pantaloons, made with antique lace. The antique whitework dress is gorgeous.

I soaked it because it had yellowed over the years. It is somewhat delicate, I put fusible interfacing under the center top which seemed the most fragile to prevent shattering.

It is very sturdy for the next hundred years. The lace on this dress is incredible. This is a wonderful doll, priced appropriately for the hairline.
