This offering is for a rare early made French doll in all original condition. Was founded in Paris by Albert Levy in 1917.

This large 27 size early bebe is rare, especially in this exceptional condition. HEAD: Crisp modeling with hand painted features. Slightly open mouth with four upper teeth. Large original blue glass sleep eyes easily opened and shut.

The eyes do not fully shut due to the presence of a metal bar in the back of the head by design--not a flaw. Upper and lower hand painted lashes. Original excellent dark human hair wig with long braids. BODY: Original wood and composition body in very good condition. Light overall wear which is common with these large old French bodies. Sturdy stringing for variable poses. Lovely fingers all present without repair. ATTIRE: Beautiful white light weight, below the knee length, cotton dress with a blue ribbon closure at the waist. Bodice beautifully decorated with fine lace and long sleeves fitted and ruffled at the wrist. Transparent slip with eyelet and embroidery. Long white stockings and cream colored booties. Goldenrod straw hat with velvet flowers.
