Your 16 cabinet poupée actual height approx. 15½ has a pale bisque shoulder head with meticulously painted multi-tone blue eyes and wonderful Gaultier face painting original - no repaint! , pierced ears (with freshwater pearl earrings), and a lovely (replaced) honey-blond human hair wig over a (replaced) cork pate. Her gusseted kid-leather fashion lady body is firm and in exceptional condition, with typical minor repairs/patches.
It has demarcated toes and wired fingers. Someone added a (wire) ring on the ring finger of her left hand--apparently quite long ago. It is easily removable, as pictured. She has exquisite face painting by the Gaultier artists: dark painted eye liner, very distinctive multi-tone blue irises, finely painted lashes, delicately feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed feminine mouth with accented lips, soft and even cheek color. She is attired in a gorgeous pink ecru antique printed dress with lace, button-down front, ruffled bottom, and a long train.
She is also wearing three-piece antique undergarments: split pantaloons, chemise, and slip. To complete the outfit, she has a fabulous bonnet hat with pink liner, silk ribbon, and plenty of lace and ruffles. Don't miss out on this rare French lady! Beautiful antique condition -- from a non-smoking environment. NO cracks, NO chips (including ear chips), NO hairlines, NO other issues found with the bisque after careful examination, including under UV lighting.
The face painting is all original--no repair or repaint. Her hands and (wired) fingers are in excellent condition--which is unusual for these 160+year-old bodies.
The body has typical repair patches, but is in sturdy condition. What might appear to be a crack in the leather... What was stated in the listing. As often happens, it's the few bad apples out there who ruin it for the rest of us. Not knowing what they're doing.And then, when they realize they've ruined the doll, they return it saying it was defective. BUT HAVING SAID ALL THAT.. I do bend over backwards, attempting to disclose any noteworthy condition issues I can find or think of.
But these are antique and vintage dolls -- so, please understand that they won't be in brand-new condition. There will always be some minor indication of their age, and it would be impossible to itemize every single pinhead-size stain on the outfit, or hairline scratch on the body. Please expect these types of conditions with old dolls.
