Rare 13 Armand Marseille 550 TEENAGE BODY Character Doll Closed-Mouth Antique

  
Original Antique Doll - Made in Germany. Bisque Head / Composition Body - Marked: "Germany 550 A1M DRGM". This is a truly adorable and rare 13 Marseille 550 character doll on a teenage composition body. She has beautiful blue-gray set eyes, a curly blond mohair wig, and superb face painting on her closed-mouth head, which is clearly incised on the back.

Her cream-color silk-and-lace dress is quite beautiful and very becoming on her. It has touches of silk ribbon and silk embroidered rosebud. She has socks, shoes, and 2-piece undergarments. She displays well and will be a gem in your collection. Beautiful antique condition -- from a non-smoking environment.

No issues found with the bisque after careful examination, other than a tiny, professionally-restored chip under her left eye. The composition has average paint loss and age chipping. Also, her right pinky has been professionally restored (as pictured).

IMPORTANT: Besides the noteworthy issues mentioned above, EXPECT any antique doll (bisque/composition/leather/china/wood) to ALSO have: (1) SIGNS OF AGE - for example: toned/crazed/chipped composition, minor wig pulls, loss of "hair" lashes on bisque heads, not-so-tight stringing, etc. (2) MINOR CONSERVATION WORK by previous owners/collectors - for example: reset eyes in most cases! , repairs to wig, repairs to clothing, touch-ups on composition/finish/paint, etc. Any MAJOR issues -- hairline crack, total repaint, etc.
