Grace S Putnam Porcelain Bye Lo Baby Doll 19 Cloth and Composition Body

  
19"-20" antique Bye-Lo bisque head on cloth body with composition hands and feet. Incised on the neck is Copr. Please note that the body is most likely not original to the doll. Most Bye Lo dolls have a soft cloth body with bent lower legs and feet which curled in, however, according to Kestner the King of Dollmakers some Bye- Lo dolls did appear on cloth bodies with straight swinging legs (before Putnam had the design for the soft cloth body ready). The doll is dressed in a sheer garment decorated with blue ribbon and lace borders, pink crocheted cardigan decorated with pink satin ribbon, and a matching bonnet; underneath she wears a white full linen slip and flannel undergarment, a pair of vintage oil cloth shoes and vintage rayon stockings with pink border complete the look. No chips or cracks on the bisque. Sleep eyes work as they should. Looking closely, you will see a few tiny black spots in the bisque, aka peppering...

The composition on the inner side of both hands have cracks, but no lifted paint or flaking. The surface of the right front foot is chipped off... Cloth body shows large stains, no odor of any kind.

All the outfit pieces are clean, no odor. The cardigan is missing on one sleeve the pink ribbon, the sleeves are too long... I just tucked the excess material under... The flannel shirt is open in the back, it also does not fit the torso all the way around. The socks and shoes are in great condition.
