Ex large 33 1860-70s Beautiful Smiling antique German China head Doll Flat top

  
She is easily my BIGGEST early China head, with a black flat top hair style which makes her generally circa late 1860s to 1870s. MASSIVE GAL with a body that was probably partly replaced/repaired over the years and has no issues for you to deal with. I had an artist make her new tan kid leather arms as it is pretty nearly impossible to find china lower arms for gals this big which I learned after many years of hunting. Her china is amazing with one tiny kiln spot on her forehead but no issues, no cracks chips etc. Lovely subtle smile formed by slightly upturned lips. She is wearing all the clothes she came with many years ago when I bought her--a two layered slip with very nice original lace, lace trimmed cotton pantaloons that are a bit thin from age, with some holes from age but not a big deal. Around her hips is her ORIGINAL bustle of kapok stuffed lace netting!

Amazing it survived, I cleaned everything and stitched it back onto her lower hip as it was when I got her. She has a purple taffeta skirt with black velvet ribbon trim and a piece of the velvet ribbon had been tied around her neck as a choker. Her purple fitted top/blousy jacket no longer fits due to her having upper body reinforced with more fabric and stuffing. The lace is VERY OLD so it is definitely disintegrating. I include all this as someone who is sew handy can use it to make a larger fitted top by tracing the parts and enlarging.

I gave her an antique white cotton top with embroidery detail so she is at least not topless. The top is tucked into the purple skirt. All the clothes were hand cleaned and ironed but show age of course. She has china lower legs with boots. There are a few small flecks of missing black glaze on her head and one boot.

If you have a nice doll coat, or a cape etc, she can probably get away without needing a new top. From top of head to feet you are looking at a grand 33 lady who will love to have her own seat at the table.

Unpacked she weighs 6.5 pounds. Her head size is " high by at least 8" wide at shoulders so proportionally she is about the right size, just long and lean. Her nice full skirt and slip give her needed fullness to her appearance. I think even a black or purple shawl would suffice to pull her together.
