Beverly Walter original porcelain doll - Marked Sug and signed by the artist. Owned by the niece of Ralph Griffith who was the owner of a doll museum in Parkville, MO and instrumental in setting up the present day UFDC headquarters and museum in Kansas City, MO.
This doll was from his personal collection in honor of his friend "Sug" that was given to his family. Has a few minor tiny pieces (included and could be reattached) loose off her hat.Coral and seed pearl jewelry is also made by Beverly and "Sug" has rings on both hands, a necklace, earrings and a brooch on her hat. Porcelain legs have remarkable shoes with 14k gold buttons. Her costume is and amazing example of 5 layers of period appropriate clothing. Her gown is hand embroidered, has covered buttons. She is 16 inches tall.
