BEAUTIFUL MECHANICAL TOY FRENCH PORCELAIN DOLL circa 1890s

  

Old toy placed on a metal platform with 3 wheels with traction hidden below where there is a papier-mâché donkey with glass eyes, a leather harness with its strap decorated with metal bells, on one side it there is a wicker basket with some wear and fruit and on the other a wicker remainder maybe an old basket? With a few pieces of ferns on the top, the ears are made of leather on which sits a character representing the King of Yvetot (who was king of Yvetot in Seine Maritime in the 14th century, and whose song was written in his honor in 1813). The character has a very beautiful head in pressed biscuit, pale, without cracks, neither hair, nor restoration. No apparent mark, Jumeau, Bru? Beautiful fixed eyes in brown enamel, closed mouth, with slight smiling expression, pierced ears.

Avec quelques morceaux de fougères sur le dessus, les oreilles sont en cuir sur lequel est assis un personnage représentant le Roi d'Yvetot (qui fut roi d'Yvetot en Seine Maritime au XIVème, et dont une chanson a été écrite en son honneur en 1813).

Le personnage à une très belle tête en biscuit pressé, pâle, sans fêle, ni cheveu, ni restauration. Pas de marque apparente, Jumeau, Bru? Beaux yeux fixes en émail marron, bouche fermée, avec légère expression souriante, oreilles percées.

Calotte en liège avec restant de cheveu en mohair recouvert d'un béret en dentelle. Il porte son très beau costume d'origine en soierie avec des usures d'usage dû au temps et un peu poussiéreux, voir toutes les photos.

Les bras sont en partie fil de fer avec des mains en métal peint, le bas des jambes et les pieds sont certainement en bois sculptés. Lorsqu'elle est tirée, cela commence par activé son bras gauche avec la lanière pour faire avancé l'âne et il remonte son bras droit avec la bouteille d'alcool pour boire au goulot et sa tête s'active de haut en bas. Dimensions : 40 x 30 cm environ.
