Antique Hermann Steiner Bisque Head Composition Body Doll -Made in Germany 1920s

  
This is a beautiful Hermann Steiner doll, measuring 15 inches tall. Her headstamp states she is a size 6. Hermann Steiner operated between 1920 and the 1940s before forming an alliance with Hauser to become the Steha doll and toy company. This doll bears a headstamp that suggests the doll was created between 1920 and 1926, when the headstamp changed. She has an open mouth showing her teeth, dimpled chin and lovely chubby rosy cheeks that adds to her adorable appearance. Her mohair wig has been glued down, and is sturdy, although definitely needs replacing as the mohair is looking sparse in some areas. She has lovely composition legs that can be bent at the knees thanks to a wooden ball socket. Her arms are made of the same makeup with jointed elbows and poseable wrists. There is some slight paint loss to her composition legs and arms as noted in the photographs. She wears a gorgeous cotton periwinkle blue dress with small flowers on it and fluted net trim. Underneath she wears a cotton underdress, cotton petticoat and cotton bloomers.

We're unsure if her clothing is her original clothing as its in such good condition.
