Antique 36 Simon Halbig #1079 Bisque Head Doll Composition Body Lovely

  

We are offering for your consideration an ANTIQUE 36 SIMON HALBIG #1079 BISQUE HEAD DOLL COMPOSITION BODY LOVELY. This lovely doll has a perfect bisque head with dark blue set eyes (not sleep) and open mouth with 4 teeth and a dimple in her chin.

The eyes have plaster of paris over entire eyes, which mat account for how dark they are. She has pierced ears with no chipping or earrings. There is a very tiny white spot near the bridge of her nose on her left side.

It doesn't feel rough to my touch. She has a ball jointed composition body in great condition for such an old doll. I assume this makes this doll at least 102 years old and the Simon Halbig KR heads after 1920.

She is dressed as I received her in a very pretty long sleeve rose colored dress trimmed in old lace and a rose burgundy velvet jacket trimmed with lace. Her petticoat, I believe, is patterned nylon and very pretty. Her shoes are charming with pink rosettes.

Her clothes and shoes appear to be made especially for her, as they fit so well. She wears patterned tights which I can't remove for fear of damaging her buttoned on shoes. Her head is marked on back S H 1079 Dep 16. She has a replaced brown curly mohair wig which frames her face beautifully. I think you will love this huge girl!
