1940's Vintage 5 Ruth Gibb's "Godeys March Family"Porcelain'LITTLE WOMEN' Dolls 7"& 12". This is a rare complete set of Ruth Gibbs Little Women dolls with a couple of accessories, the little'Jo's Book' and the little pencil with the rolled up Jingle Bells sheet music. Each doll has its stand. This is a real treasure and they're in great condition.

I can find the label on only one doll, Amy. They appear to be simple stickers.

Or maybe I'm not looking in the right place. The little Women book is really a jewelry box. It was with the dolls.

Was a fashion magazine from the 19th century that Ruth Gibbs thought symbolized her dolls. "Godey's March Family" refers to the March family, the name of the family in'Little Women'. That phrase was trademarked in 1948 so that could have been the year they started making these particular dolls.
