Either way, she is not a Kestner doll one usually sees, like the 154, although I have three of them right now. The other two are very large and I will be listing them soon. This lady is nice despite her flaw and that is well hidden by her clothing. She has blue sleep eyes, which, for me, seems strange, as I have always noted that Kestner seem to lean toward brown eyes.
From some reason, her plaster pate only covered part of her head, leaving about a third of it missing. For you, that is good! Because if you want to enable her sleepy eyes again, you can just lift the back of her wig and tweezer out the paper toweling to have them working again! She also has a platinum blonde mohair wig done up in two braids. We only use mohair or human hair wigs with our dolls now.
This doll came to us with an acrylic wig and we got rid of that immediately! She is wearing an antique ensemble which may not be the original, but is certainly very old, possibly circa 1930s. It consists of a very pretty pale blue dress, possibly faded, with pink and darker blue flowers on it.
It has a large square Bertha collar trimmed in heavy white crocheted lace, with this same lace trimming the edges of the sleeves. The collar is decorated with tiny white buttons centered under her chin.
The dress is gathered into an empire waist and falls to a strait hemline. The full antique slip, trimmed in more heavy white lace, white bangs below the hemline of the dress and acts as an additional hemline for the actual dress. A drawstring waistline cinches in the antique white cotton heavy lace-trimmed pantalettes.
Black, school-girl, cotton stockings and little black tie-on shoes complete her ensemble. Her tie-on, blue-flowered boater in white straw, ends this costume description.
Is she not gorgeous, despite her flaw? This item is in the category "Dolls & Bears\Dolls, Clothing & Accessories\Dolls & Doll Playsets".
