14 Parian Doll, Molded Fancy Blond Hairdo, Lovely Detailed Costume. 14 Parian Bisque Head Doll. Cloth Body - Leather Arms-Hands. This is a gorgeous Parian bisque shoulder plate doll with a cloth body. Her face is unglazed and is beautifully painted.

Her open-closed, almost smiling mouth is exquisite with tiny teeth showing. Her glazed blond hairdo has face curls, a large braid on top, plus cascading curls in back. She has exposed ears that are pierced having tiny gold beads as earrings. Her head is slightly turned. She does have a repair to the shoulder plate.

I do not know if it was broken or just cracked. I do believe it is a crack, because a string is tied around her neck. From the repair I would guess it is a crack. Please examine pictures of this area. Since her clothes are sewn on, it would be difficult to remove them to examine.

I see a hairline crack from hairline, between eye and ear, to jawline about 1 inch on right side. You can faintly see this in the photo of her left side. It is unmarked but most likely German. Her body is of cloth with leather hands, stitched fingers, and lower arms. There is leather attaching the shoulder plate to the body, but again I cannot see too much without removing the clothing. There are 2 pieces of matching cotton underclothes. Drawers with draw string waist and cotton edging/lace at hem that are hand stitched.

Matching hand sewn petticoat with cotton edging/lace and a waistband with button hole that is sewn on doll. Bustle attachment of more modern material. Both cotton pieces are finely hand stitched with tiny stitches and evidence of expert workmanship. The dress is fully lined with a fine, lightweight cotton material. It is expertly made and decorated with machine and hand stitching.

The dress design and soft rose color are perfect for the doll. There is an ivory colored, lace trimmed, shawl/fichu type collar with a tiny cameo (modern). Same lace decorates the sleeve. Tiny glass beads are down the back. The full skirt has an attached underskirt of flounced netting.

Stockings are of a silky, white material. Her tiny white leather shoes are my personal favorite. They fit perfectly, have an ankle tie, gold bead decoration, and have heavy paper soles. Even with her damaged shoulder plate, she is a stunning beauty. She was part of my aunt's doll collection which I inherited nearly 40 some years ago.

She has been under glass all the while. I believe her clothes were made of antique materials about about 50 to 60 years ago. I have loved her sweet smile for decades.
