10 Schoenau & Hoffmeister antique bisque doll nanking 1909 10/0 regional SpbH

  

I don't know a lot about antique dolls, I'm sort of a novice collector that got in over my head, but this is what I've learned about her. This is a little regional doll by Schoenau & Hoffmeister. She is in amazing condition!

Especially considering she's probably between 110-120 years old or more. I don't know exactly when she was made, but she is no younger than that. She has a cute little short brown mohair wig, stunning blue fixed eyes, molded square cut teeth, and a wonderful cloth body. She has a regional costume on from somewhere in Europe, I think.

The fabrics are cotton and/or wool with satin ribbons, glass seed beads, and hand embroidered on the apron and vest. The lace on her cotton sleeves matches the lace on her underskirt and bloomers. Her clothes are sewn on, but from what I can tell, she has cotton bloomers with lace trim, a cotton dress with lace on the bottom edge and on the sleeves, a blue skirt, with an apron, and a vest, as well as the head piece. I used to know exactly who she was but lost links long ago.

This doll is antique, she is likely about 100-110 years old. She is in great condition for her age! She's a smidge dingy, but not bad, and her clothes appear to be in excellent condition.

The main one is the lacing on the bodice, and one smaller spot on the skirt. But her body is pretty near immaculate!

A lot of it is covered, since she's sewn into her clothes, but what I can see and feel is in great shape. Her whole body is cloth. Even her little fingers are sewn. It's a thick cotton? Fabric, stuffed very firmly with what feels like wood fiber?

She is also fully jointed! I can't see the hinges, but they're metal.

I don't see any rust on the clothing, and they still work perfectly. She's an amazing little doll in amazing condition. She belonged to a collector before she was mine, but I think before that she was packed away carefully somewhere for a long time.
