Vintage German Porcelain Pincushion Half Doll Liquidation Lady With Lorgnette

This item is from my personal collection of beautiful half dolls. All the dolls in this collection are genuine, antique, vintage dolls. It is time to find new homes and new caretakers for these unusual, hard-to-find, rare, porcelain half dolls. Be sure to view my other auctions by clicking on. Lady with lorgnette half doll. This pretty court lady is holding a gilded lorgnette, a pair of glasses or opera glasses held in front of the eyes by a long handle at one side. She has gray striated hair, black eyebrows and unusual gray downcast eyes with coral lid lines. Her facial features and hands are delicately molded. She is beautifully painted with blushed cheeks and coral Cupid's bow lips.

Her head is tilted and she has a pensive look about her. What is she thinking about? This delicate doll is mounted on a wire frame and is dressed in vintage fabrics and lace. An ivory satin petticoat covers the frame.

Ecru-colored fabric is gathered at her waist. Antique lace covers her torso, and there are long panels of lace cascading down each side of the skirt. The antique lace is trimmed with handmade ecru ribbon cabbage roses and sprigs of tiny blue forget-me-nots. One of the prettiest ensembles of any doll in my collection.
