Rare 1920s half doll Fasold and Stauch vintage antique pin cushion

This elegant, larger size 1920s ceramic half doll or pincushion doll is beautifully modelled and very finely painted. She is by the German company Fasold & Stauch and is illustrated on page 56 of the reference guide'Lorrin's Half Doll Book, Volume Four. Her left arm is away from her body and she holds an open fan in her right hand. The base is made from padded silk with a pretty overdress in pale pink brocade fabric for the under layer and floral silk with lace trim for the upper layer of the dress. The dress is decorated with silk ribbon flowers and she also has flowers at her waist and around her shoulders/front.

She measures just under 10.5" inches high overall with the base measuring 5" inches across. The half doll herself measures 4" inches high by 2.75" inches wide.

The condition of the ceramic figure is excellent. There are some signs of age to the fabric on the dress. The top layer of the dress has sun fade at the front (you can see this in the photos as the back of the dress is a very pale blue colour). There are a couple of minor splits in the top layer of silk at the front of the dress. These fall within the folds of the fabric so are not immediately noticeable unless you are looking for them.
