This item is from my personal collection of beautiful half dolls. All the dolls in this collection are genuine, antique, vintage dolls. It is time to find new homes and new caretakers for these unusual, hard-to-find, rare, porcelain half dolls. Unusual and hard to find shoulder/head half doll. A shoulder/head doll is just that.

It is designed to have the head and shoulders of a figure, but does not include the midriff and waist of the figure. There were only two American companies that produced any half dolls in this country. Fulper/Stengl Pottery and Lenox Ceramics Art Company.

This shoulder/head doll was made by Fulper. The Fulper factory was located in Flemington, New Jersey from 1910 to 1929.

William Fulper died in 1928 and his pottery burned to the ground in 1929. Her gray hair is styled with waves and curls at each side of her face.

A previous owner had assembled this Fulper shoulder/head half doll into a boudoir lamp by mounting it on a wire frame and welding a light socket to the bottom of the cage. She was in shambles when I acquired her, the arms were detached and her clothes were ragged and dirty. It was obvious she had had a rough life.

Then, I created a torso for her. After cleaning the fabrics I had salvaged from the original presentation, I redressed her in the original sleeves, petticoat and skirt and created a bodice for her gown with scraps of original fabric, adding pieces of vintage lace. Her makeover was a success!

She is now structurally sound, clean and beautiful. This should-head Fulper doll is a rare piece for the discerning half doll collector. Unique, hard to find and ready to find a new home in your collection. See the additional pictures of her makeover.
